4 Tips For Walking Your Dogs In Public While Observing Physical Distancing

We’ve had so much change in the last few months and our pets are probably estranged to the changes too.

We have been confined from the outside along with our pets. Although we are not totally banned from going outside and probably walking our dogs in public, we have to follow physical distancing.

Walking your dog does not only benefit your wellbeing but also of your pets.

Here are 4 tips for walking your dogs in public while observing physical distancing.

Keep your distance

You must be always mindful of your distance from others. If you see people approaching your way, keep in mind to give them enough space or cross the street if you have to just to keep the distance.

Don’t pet others

Normally, we love to pet other dogs when we find them amusing or adorable. However, keep in mind that with our new normal avoid petting other dogs. Although there is no proof that pets help spread the virus, it’s better to be safe.

Stay hygienic

Make sure that you wear a proper mask when going out and carry a hand sanitizer or alcohol with you.

Avoid touching things that people often touch and make sure that you wash your hands every time you get exposed outside.

Stay social

Even though we are practicing physical distancing it doesn’t mean we should be socially distanced. Stay social – smile, wave, say hello, and communicate from a distance.

It may feel a little strange that we don’t get to do what we normally do when we are out and about especially when walking our dogs, but it’s something we all should practice and follow during this pandemic outbreak.

Remember, stay conscious, stay courteous, and keep your physical distance from others.
