People get stuck. Stuck in bad habits, boring routines, unwanted relationships, toxic workplaces, etc.
But why do we get stuck?!
Most people get stuck because they keep limiting beliefs, mindset, and behaviors that are already unhelpful and the worst is most people don’t realize that.
Our mindset plays a very essential role in creating new changes and only when we change, we’ll be able to experience new things.
That is why we need to refresh and reset our minds. If you think you are stuck and you want to break through, then I guess it’s the time to give your mind a little polish.
Here are 5 ways to reset your mindset and create new space for growth.
Take Time To Reflect
The first step to do is to give yourself enough time to reflect and really evaluate yourself, your core, mind, your thoughts.
It is important that you get to the core and identify the things that are holding you back. ‘What makes you stuck?’ ‘What are the things that are stopping you from doing what you want to do?’ Think of your self-doubts, the limiting beliefs you have, your fears, worries, anxieties, guilt or regret.
Recognized and acknowledge them.
Now, think about your goals, your dreams, and ambitions. ‘What do you want to become?’ ‘What is success to you?’.
if you want to create or reset your mindset, you have become well-aware of your current reality, your obstacles and you have to clear on what you want to achieve and experience.
Forget Negative Thoughts and Habits
Now that you’ve already identified all the negative thoughts and habits that are keeping you stuck, it’s time to plan the steps on how you can effectively get rid of them and embrace new healthy habits.
Ask yourself ‘What triggers you to having negative thoughts and bad habits?’ ‘How can you get rid of them?’ ‘What positive thoughts and healthy habits I should adapt to counteract them?’
Give yourself the time to understand where all of these negative thoughts and bad habits are coming from and map out the step you can do to banish them and how you can create new positive thoughts and healthy habits.
Let Go of Resentment
It is noteworthy to remember that you will only be able to fully embrace and truly experience the things you want to experience when you let go of the past that doesn’t serve you at all.
Let go of resentment, grudge, feeling of guilt, or anything from your past that keeps you reliving a part of your life that is not serving you better.
Only when you let go of these, you’ll be able to really create a new space for growth.
Write It All Down
All the thinking part is done and now you’ve basically had the whole plan going on in your head. Now, it’s time to write them all down.
Writing actually helps to strengthen that drive of really working on something you want to achieve. Plus, it helps you to stay on track.
Start by writing the things that you want to let go, you want to improve, you want to work on and you want to achieve. Then for each of these lists, write the steps you can do work on each of them.
Of course, you can’t list them all up in just one sitting so remember to always check-in, review and update them and then step-by-step implement the changes you need to do.
Stay Focused
We are bombarded with distractions from the moment we wake until we are about to sleep. That is why make sure that you get rid of distractions or at least minimize them.
If things are getting a bit fuzzy, check your notes again and keep yourself reminded of the things you should be doing instead of getting dragged by distractions.
It is important that you are dedicated to doing the things you have to do to be where you want to be. There’s a whole lot of steps in there but the key is you have to be dedicated and consistent.
However, don’t be hard on yourself. Failure is inevitable so when you fail on that single step, that’s totally fine. You can always do it again.
