We all want to be as productive as we can and fast-track our way to success. But distractions are everywhere and if we don’t learn to stay focus, we’ll definitely get lost.
The lack of focus is one of the biggest detractors of productivity. Distractions lower your performance and waste your time and energy, not just at work but on anything you want to do.
Here are 5 ways to keep your focus and stay on track:
Plan Ahead
This may sound like extra work but it’s going to be worth your time. Plan ahead the night before the things you want to do or accomplish the next day. Create a to-do list. Write it on a paper or a note on your phone. This will help you set your mind to what your next would be like, giving you focus and a track to follow.
Prioritize
Once you have your to-do list, know which ones you have to prioritize and ones that could be done at a later time. Prioritize the tasks that require more thinking time, mental strain, ability, and energy. So, you’ll have time to relax and do the rest of your tasks that should be easy.
Block Distractions
Distractions are inevitable at the end of the day, it all depends on you if you let these distraction work on you. But if you know and certain of the things that only matter to you at the moment then you also know which ones are the distractions to you.
Breathe
Make sure that you give yourself some time to breathe and relax. When you feel overwhelmed or exhausted, pause! Drink water or coffee, stretch, do a quick walk or whatever that gives you a quick retreat from whatever you’re working. Then, come back to your task with renewed vigor, energy, and better focus.
Remind Yourself
When you feel like your drive is fading, just remind yourself of the greater purpose. The main reason why you are doing what you’re doing and then visualize your goals. This will help you to stay on track and regain your focus.
