This might sound like a crazy idea but time and again, people have proven how beneficial it is to have dogs in the workplace.

According to the yearly survey conducted by the Society of Human Resource Management’s Employee benefits, there has been a significant increase in workplaces having dogs.

Business owners have noticed a significant increase in productivity and employee retention when allowed to bring their dogs with them to work.

However, employees are always reminded to only bring well-behaved dogs and are well-trained to make sure it would not affect the workplace and other employees negatively.

Here are 5 more reasons why bringing your dogs to work is a good idea:

Reduce work stress
According to several studies conducted, allowing staff to bring their dogs to work can significantly decrease stress in the workplace.

Having the time to pet dogs at work even just for 5 minutes can help reduce stress because when you cuddle or stroke a dog, the human bodies naturally release oxytocin which is a stress-reducing hormone.

Encourage relaxation
Having dogs at work technically encourage employees to take a break to pet or walk their dogs which in the same way relaxes them.

Although it may sound counterproductive to some others would see this as a distraction. However, people need to take regular breaks to avoid burnout and stay productive.

When employees get regular relaxation, have less stress, and are happy, they become more productive as stress and generally feeling not motivated at work is the main reason for employees to become unproductive.
